Aaron Burby

Aaron is an accomplished competitive triathlete and runner with over 25 years of experience, including many international races and 4 Ironman World Championship finishes. His passion for the sport and strong desire to help others go beyond their perceived limits and achieve their athletic goals make him an ideal coach. As a natural leader and motivator Aaron would be a great fit for an athlete looking to race their first triathlon, marathon, or a veteran looking to reach that next level. Aaron understands the importance of finding the ideal work/life/training balance and works closely with his athletes to find that balance. Pauole Sport is proud to have such a strong leader and a positive role model on the coaching staff. Aaron lives in San Francisco and is available to coach remotely. He presently coaches several Pauole Sport athletes in Washington, California, and Europe.

As a USAT Certified Level I Triathlon Coach, Aaron combines his training and experience to deliver comprehensive training programs including sport specific elements, strength training, nutrition, and mental preparation. He has coached triathletes and runners of varying skills and abilities for both short and long course events. Aaron believes in both the physical and mental aspects of training. He helps athletes mentally approach each race and overcome obstacles during critical moments on race day.

Aaron ran his first 10K when he was 9 years old and from then on was hooked. He has become an exceptionally strong runner, posting his fastest marathon in Milan of 2:38:57 and his fastest Ironman marathon split of 2:59:40 at Ironman Austria. Aaron has completed over fourteen 70.3 distance races and has placed first in his age group in multiple races. He has finished 13 Ironman events with a personal best of 9:06:10 at Ironman Austria.

Aaron moved to London for several years and had the opportunity to race internationally and compete at: Ironman Austria, Ironman Wales, Ironman South Africa, Antwerp 70.3, La Marmotte, Le Etape, and the Le Mans 24-hour race. In 2012 Aaron set a new PR at Antwerp 70.3 with a 4:14:50 finish. In the toughest conditions to date at Ironman South Africa, he earned a 3rd place age group finish, 32nd overall, and a qualifying spot for the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.

One of Aaron’s greatest achievements is being able to successfully balance work, volunteering, training and playing!
